Hi, I'm Shannon Halliday!
I’m an animator and story artist based in Toronto.
Ever since I was young, I’ve had an obsession with the past, the supernatural, and the weird. I think it came from an appreciation for humanity and seeking connections with people who lived completely different lives from my own, lives that I couldn't ever fully understand. As such, historical and whimsical aesthetics have always wormed their way into my characters, worlds, and stories.
Currently, I’m in my 4th year at OCADU, studying experimental animation. While I’m most adept with digital animation and illustration, I love mixing media and working with my hands whenever possible. I have a constant desire to push myself and try new things. Because of this, I’ve started gravitating towards stop-motion animation and puppet making.
Software I’m proficient in includes ToonBoom Harmony, Dragonframe, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Audition, Procreate, and ToonSquid.
Going forward, I want to work more with stop-motion and hybrid animation. I would like to work in the TV and Film industry, with a focus on visual development and pre-production.
